Teriyaki Salmon with Broccoli is a quick and delicious dish that brings together tender salmon fillets and vibrant broccoli in a savory teriyaki sauce. This recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, as it only requires a few ingredients and can be made in the Instant Pot in no time.
The combination of the sweet and salty teriyaki glaze with the flaky salmon and crisp-tender broccoli creates a satisfying meal that’s both nutritious and flavorful. One of the best aspects of this recipe is its versatility. You can easily swap out the salmon for other proteins, such as chicken or tofu, and the broccoli can be replaced with any of your favorite vegetables.
This dish also pairs beautifully with steamed rice or quinoa, making it a complete meal that the whole family will enjoy. With just a few simple steps, you can have a restaurant-quality dish right at home.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
- Green onions, sliced (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Start by pouring the water into the bottom of the Instant Pot and placing the trivet or steamer basket inside. This will create a steaming environment for the salmon and broccoli.
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper, then place them skin-side down on the trivet or in the steamer basket. Drizzle the teriyaki sauce evenly over the salmon, making sure each piece is well coated.
- Next, add the broccoli florets around the salmon in the steamer basket. This allows the broccoli to steam while the salmon cooks, absorbing some of the delicious flavors.
- Close the Instant Pot lid securely, ensuring the valve is set to “sealing.” Select the “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” setting and set the timer for 5 minutes. It will take a few minutes for the pot to come to pressure before the cooking time begins.
- Once the cooking time is complete, perform a quick release by carefully turning the valve to “venting” to release the steam. Once the pin drops, open the lid and check that the salmon is cooked through and the broccoli is bright green and tender.
- Remove the salmon and broccoli from the Instant Pot using tongs. Garnish the salmon with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired, then serve immediately with extra teriyaki sauce on the side.
Extra Tips
If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can reserve some of the teriyaki sauce and simmer it in a small saucepan until it reduces to your desired consistency.
